The Minimal & Effortless Bridal Look
Being a firm believer in being true to yourself on your wedding day no matter how out-there or simple that might be, there is something to be said about the classic and minimal bridal look. My team and I were really inspired by this due to how it transcends time and decided to highlight that during this shoot. / Photographer & Stylist: Aly Montez / Hair: Patty Ayala / Makeup: Kristina Chancellor
The Bold
I find myself talking often about the minimal and classic looks, or the statements. What about when your entire vibe is bold. As if you even needed me to, I’m here to say it’s just as amazing. It takes a good deal of confidence to rock these looks (I tried as a bride myself and found myself retreating a little bit). But when you’ve got it, you’ve got it. When Leon arrived with this look, I was floored. We’ve worked together so many times but she never fails to surprise me. I often refer to this as the be-all and end-all of bridal looks.
The Power of the Statement Earring
Against the backdrop of the classic and familiar elements of weddings, there’s power in being strategic about where your statements lay. I apply the same logic that I use in my every day life that I do when either consulting on wedding design or planning a styled shoot- keep your pillars simple and shake up the moveables. I am undeniably influenced by the world of fashion and while this industry is driven by trends that change at most by the year, there are pillars to these trends that never go out of style. For example, in the scope of wedding design- I love seeing floral and lighting as a statement while keeping chairs, tables, and altars classic with thoughtful color palettes. As for the bride, whenever I hear “classic slicked back hair and clean makeup”, I automatically think statement earring. This is not everyones cup of tea, but it’s a surprising element that could be the glue you didn’t know you needed.
